LC Tennis Falls in CIAA Northern Division Roundup

CHARLOTTE - Livingstone College women's tennis team went 0-3 in the CIAA Northern Division Round Up over the weekend against Virginia Union University, Bowie State University and Elizabeth City State University, falling 7-0 in each match.

Livingstone College Maggie Henderson and Samone Mitchell won individual games, but VUU defeated LC 7-0 in Charlotte, NC.

Henderson, lost her match at No.1 singles 6-4, 6-0 while Mitchell lost her match at No.3 singles 6-2, 7-6 (1-0).

LC's Mariah Mason lost at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-0 and Brianna Hunter lost her match at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-1.

Livingstone's Jamyse Bell lost at No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-2 while Sereina Murdaugh lost at No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0.

Virginia Union also swept the three doubles matches 6-4, 6-0, 6-0.
 
Against Bowie State on the singles side, Maggie Henderson lost her match 6-2, 6-2; Mariah Mason dropped a close match to Bowie's Kayla Bridgett 6-0, 6-2 and Samone Mitchell fell to Todd Byrom by a 6-1, 6-5 score. 

Livingstone College finished the weekend with a tough defeat at the hands of ESCU, 7-0.

Against the Vikings, LC rebounded in their last match of Sunday against but fell in all three doubles matches 6-2, 6-4, and 6-2.

Brianna Hunter won the second set against Jatiya Stewart but lost the match 2-1. Elizabeth City St.
