LC Women's Tennis Falls to JCSU, 7-0

CHARLOTTE - The Livingstone College women's tennis team traveled to Charlotte, N.C., to take on CIAA Southern Division rival Johnson C. Smith at the Coleman-Cuthbertson Complex, on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Bulls were able to sweep past the Lady Blue Bears, only dropping two game in the singles competition.  LC's Samone Mitchell took one game for LC, before falling to her opponent at the No. 2 singles by a 6-1, 6-0 score.  However, Lady Blue Bear Jamyse Bell took a game in her No. 4 singles and fell by a 6-0, 6-1 score.  In the remaining singles matches, Smith won in straight sets, all by 6-0, 6-0 scores.

In doubles play, Maggie Henderson and teammate Mitchell took one game, falling 6-1 at No.1.  Johnson C. Smith then took the No. 2 and No. 3 matches by 6-0 scores to take the doubles point.

The loss drops the Lady Blue Bears to 0-3 on the season while JCSU improves to 3-6.
