Lady Blue Bears took a 75-69, Win over WSSU on Senior Day

SALISBURY – The Livingstone College Lady Blue Bears had one of their best performances in their final game of the season when the team took a 75-69, win over the Winston-Salem State Rams Saturday afternoon, in New Trent Gym.

Daisa Harris led the way for the Lady Blue Bears with 29 points and six rebounds in the game.  Adel Allen and Asia Green each had 12 points while Kedra Bradley finished with 10 points.

The Lady Blue Bears jumped ahead to 15 points in the first half, 30-15 and held a 37-29 advantage at halftime, before Rams made a 9-0 run in the first half.

The Rams shot just 39 percent in the opening half and committing 15 turnovers. LC shot 42 percent in the first half, made 8-of-13 free throws and turned the ball over just nine times.

The Lady Blue Bears allowed the Rams to go on a 10 to 2 run to cut the lead 41-39 with 8:16 left in the third quarter.

WSSU's took the one point lead 55-54 on a free throw from Brionna Pate, with 6:40 remaining. However Blue Bears went back on top, 57-55.

The Rams tied the score at 67-67, at the 1:17-mark in the fourth quarter.

From there, the Lady Blue Bears went to the foul line six time connecting on four to seal the victory .

As a team, the Lady Blue Bears shot 48.1% 26-of-58 from the floor in the game while holding the Rams to shooting just 45.1% 27-of-60 from the floor.

Livingstone improved to 9-19 overall, 6-12 in the CIAA and 6-6 in the conference's Southern Division. The Rams fall to 15-13 and 11-7, and 8-4 in the division.

Livingstone, No. 4 in the Southern Division, will play on Tuesday morning in Charlotte against Virginia State, the No. 5 seed in the Northern Division.
