Blue Bears captures 2018 CIAA Men’s Golf Championship

NEW KENT, Va – The Livingstone College men's golf team captured the 2018 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) golf championship on Friday afternoon at the Club Viniterra Golf Course.
 
The Blue Bears shot a final-round 318 and won the championship by 11 strokes over Virginia Union. Livingstone finished the two-day tournament with a 635 to claim its second title. Virginia Union fired a 646 to take second, while Saint Augustine's finished third with a 671.
 
Philip Harrison who earned All-CIAA First Team and All-Tournament honors, finished third with a 153 (74-79), while Alex Stewart and Michael Sutton both was named to the All-CIAA and finished seventh and tenth with a 157 (78-79) and 162 (82-80) respectively.

With the win, the Blue Bears earned the conference's automatic qualifier for the NCAA Men's Regional Championship.
