LC WBB drops two in the Carol Eckman Memorial Tournament

SALISBURY  – The Livingstone College women's basketball team fell to West Chester University 95-64 and Bloomsburg University, 73-47 in the 2017-18 season opener in WCU's Carol Eckman Memorial Tournament over the weekend.
                             
Freshman I'Keya Bland paced the Lady Blue Bears with 13 points and four rebounds in 27 minutes of action, while Freshman Nina Robinson grabbed a team-high seven boards off the bench for the Blue Bears
 
The Blue Bears fired at a 36 percent clip from the floor and shot 55 percent from the line.  As a team LC grabbed 41 rebounds.
 
In the Second game of the Carol Eckman Memorial Tournament the Lady Blue Bears faced Bloomsburg falling 73-47, on Sunday afternoon.
 
Junior Kyala Searcy led the Lady Blue Bears with 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Asia Green chipped in nine points as well as nine rebound
 
As a team, Livingstone shot 25 percent from the floor, but shot 13 for 21, from the charity stripe.
 
Livingstone continue their non-conference slate on Wednesday Nov. 15 when they host Claflin University.  Tip-off is slated for 6:00 p.m.
