Hill Dominates Bulldogs, Scores 26 Points

Livingstone College's Jody Hill, Jr., (Detroit, MI) went on a 17-point streak in the second half to boost the Blue Bears morale and take an 85-72 win over Bowie State University Thursday night.

The Bulldogs began the game with a bite as they led by as much as 12 points in the first five minutes of the game.

Livingstone pulled within three points with Ethan Anderson's layup.

At that point the Blue Bears applied some defensive pressure and forced key turnovers. Jairus King also played big under the basket and pulled down some big rebounds which converted to points on the opposite end.

The Blue Bears ended the first half trailing 38-34.

In the second half Hill scored half of the Blue Bears points. Only scoring two points in the first half, Hill changed the whole tempo of the game and hit five-of-10 three pointers, all of which he made back-to-back.

At the 4:01 mark, Tyler Johnson's (Raleigh, NC) made free throw shot and gave the Blue Bears a 13 point advantage.

Livingstone's win was aided by Mark Thomas (Saginaw, MI) and Omar Ford- Bey (Chester, PA) who scored 17 and 15 points respectively. Eladio Espinoza (Summit, NJ) added 12 points to the score and a team high nine rebounds.

The win improves the Blue Bears record to 9-1 overall and 1-0 in the CIAA conference.

Livingstone travels to Richmond to face Virginia Union University, Saturday, January 5. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
