HAMPTON, VA – Sophomore middle hitter Michelle Thompson was named the CIAA Volleyball Player of the Week for matches through Sept. 14, it was announced Wednesday by the conference office.

The award is the first for Thompson this season and the second in two weeks for a Livingstone volleyball player.

Last week in seven matches Thompson totaled 69 kills, a .243 hitting percentage, 10 service aces, 48 digs and 18 blocks.  Thompson's top performance came against Morris College where she notched 14 kills, a .344 hitting percentage, three service aces, nine digs and four blocks.

The Blue Bears will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 19 when they host St. Paul's College at 1 p.m.
